Silk Thread Bangles at DakshinaChitra

Meet our bangle lady Karpagam from Neelankarai, Chennai.
Her designer bangles are quite an innovation.

One can also find her at DakshinaChitra often with a crowd around her - visitors admiring her work of art and the dextrous movement of her hands that turn plain bangles into beautiful, bright and colourful ones.

She wraps the glass bangles or the fibre bangles with colourful silken threads and turns them into wonderful unique bangles of different shades of colours. One can choose the bangles from the wide collection to suit any occasion or else choose the coloured thread to match your taste and watch our expert crafts person design the right pair for you in front of your eyes.

What she had once started as her hobby, today is her passion and her exquisite bangles were quite an attraction in the recently concluded annual Crafts Bazaar by the Crafts Council of India. Presently she has ten members working with her.

She is also adept at making beautiful and unique invitations with bangles- a DakshinaChitra innovation you are welcome to order directly from her.
