Kesavan

Kesavan hails from Kumbakonam and been weaving for more than 40 years.  He was just 13 when he finished his first sari.  He does not depend on mechanics if there is problem, and can change the orientation of the loom single-handedly. Kesavan displays extreme commitment and reverence to his occupation.

From the year 2005, Kesavan and his wife have been working as in-house weavers at DakshinaChitra, demonstrating the process to visitors and weaving sarees for Sundari Silks with whom he has been associated since childhood.
