Meet our Crafts Person Govind Swami

Govind Swami is a popular face in our crafts bazaar. He has been associated with DakshinaChitra for the last nine years and has mastered the art of Bead Jewellery which requires both precision and aesthetics.

He has learnt the art from the traditional Gypsy bead maker and was influenced by temple jewellery. He has now developed his own technique and one can see his skill in the creative jewellery in glass beads and wood beads like tulsi, rudraksha, red sandal and other beads.

He has participated in many exhibitions and crafts Melas across the nation and we are proud to have him demonstrate his skill at our DakshinaChitra Crafts Bazaar. One can learn the art and choose and design ones own necklaces, bracelets and anklets from the wide range of beads collected from places like Delhi, Mathura, Jaipur etc.

The parents are very happy and proud of their son and they feel this is a dream come true moment for them.
