Village Links
Visits to villages on the outskirts of Chennai are arranged
for groups of children. Children are encouraged to question
and interact with the villagers and take part in their daily
activities. It is a a unique opportunity for city-bred youngsters
to understand and appreciate the essence of life in the
villages. A walk in the fields and breakfast under big banyan
trees are always enjoyed by the participants.
Special programs for village children are also arranged
both in the village and at DakshinaChitra.
Heritage Trips
 Trips
to heritage sites such as Gingee Fort, Kanchipuram, early
Pallava caves and Pulicat are arranged and the group is
accompanied by our staff and Dr.Suresh an expert guide/historian.
Little known facts and tidbits of mysterious history bring
the heritage sites alive during these excursions. Students,
children and adults can participate and a minimum of 20
persons are required to arrange a trip.
