Students can spend anywhere between 3 hrs
to a whole day at DakshinaChitra.
Their visit will be handled by the education staff at the
center who will guide them at every point making their experience
entertaining, creative and educative.
What can they do in a day?

Take a guided tour at
DakshinaChitra walking in and
out of different types of heritage houses learning new
things every minute.

Play traditional games
like pot breaking, pandi, traditional board games etc.

Watch and participate
in craft demonstrations such as clay pottery, textile
weaving, stone carving, basket weaving, palm leaf decoration
and much more...

On weekends, students
get to watch and participate in puppet shows and glass
blowing activites (can be arranged on other days also
with prior notice).

Students can also watch
special film shows on a wide range of topics.
Students can have lunch at our premises and
for every 20 children one teacher is allowed free. The charges
for students are very nominal.
The Education staff along with craft/ folk dance resource
persons can visit your educational institution to interact
with your students. Folk dance sessions can be conducted
even during the assembly hour for all the students –
or it can be done as an alternative to regular physical
education classes for a change!
