Madras Craft Foundation is organizing a four-day
residential workshop on "Architecture Conservation"
- the first one in the series titled "Spirit of Vernacular
Architecture of South India" at DakshinaChitra,
Mutukadu, East Coast Road, Chennai from 29th
September to 2nd October, 2005 by our committed
and experienced team of architects. The course director
is Mr. Benny Kuriakose.
The workshop will include lectures by eminent
architects, group discussions, documentation exercises and
construction activities on the following :
Principles of conservation and conservation techniques.
Technical problems in old buildings
Adaptive reuse of buildings
Practical aspects of conservation
Conserving domestic architecture
Practical sessions and site visit.
The Course Fee:
Rs. 1,500/- inclusive of materials, food and accommodation.
