These seminars are held on issues in the arts pertinent
today. They examine contemporary practices, tracing their
history, meaning and periods of change. The seminars bring
together scholars from Asia and the west with Indian scholars
representing different traditions and academic backgrounds.
Sessions with the practioners of the arts under discussion,
workshops or performances with them are then arranged which
are open to the public. The seminar concludes with a 5 or
6 day trip through the region pertinent to the seminar.
International Seminars are held approximately once every
two years.
DakshinaChitra openly seeks collaboration
with museums and universities throughout the world for these
programs. Museums may suggest topics of interest to them.
