DakshinaChitra LangFest 2022, scheduled on 11th and 12th of March 2022 at DakshinaChitra, will
cater to Language lovers across genres. The first edition of this festival is built around the Language – Tamil,
Tamil, focusing primarily on the Arts and Aesthetics of Tamil Nadu, as well as the social, cultural,
historical, and political factors that influence them.

The festival packs two days of panel discussions, live performances, activities, exhibitions and stalls into
DakshinaChitra, to create an ambience centered around the Language Tamil.

As a part of the fest, we will have an Online challenge called TYPE 2022, a digital curation project that exhibits and
archives creative interpretations of Tamil typography and letterforms. We invite visual artists from all countries,
working in all kinds of mediums. The participants will be challenged to design and submit their creative interpretations
of four Tamil words.

WORD 1 - சதிராட்டம் (Sadir Attam)
WORD 2 - கோலம் (Kolam)

WORD 3 - திருக்குறள் (Tirukkural)
WORD 4 - கானா (Gaana)

Our jury takes all the submissions seriously and a selection of artworks will be featured on our social media and
exhibited during the festival. 5 selected designers will be given an opportunity to set up stalls at DakshinaChitra during
the days of DakshinaChitra LangFest 2022.
